The Government of Nepal (GoN) has recently made significant strides in the water and sanitation sector with the approval of the new "Water and Sanitation Regulation, 2081" by the Council of Ministers on 2081 Poush 16 (31 December 2024). The regulation has already been published in the Nepal Gazette on 2081 Magh 10 (23 January 2025) and marks an essential milestone in the country's effort to provide clean water and sanitation for all its citizens. To ensure the effective implementation and dissemination of this regulation, an interactive discussion program was organized by the Ministry of Water Supply with support from UN-Habitat, aiming to align future implications with the Government’s priorities and address the sector's challenges.
