The Global Sanitation Fund, or GSF, has 11 programmes in Africa and Asia to support more people to access and use improved sanitation, end the practice of open defecation and promote the adoption of safe hygiene practices.

By the end of 2013, more than 8 million people have participated in community activities highlighting the importance of good sanitation and hygiene through the GSF programme.
